DDNS - Dynamic DNS

Dynamic DNS

Dynamic Domain Name System (DDNS) helps to link a domain name to changing IP addresses. This service is provided by a DDNS service provider for e.g. Dyndns, NO-IP. The DDNS service provider contacts the DNS service at a specified time interval for the changed IP address and subsequently updated the DNS database to reflect the change in IP address. In this way, even though a domain name's IP address is changed by the ISP you do not have to remember the changed IP address in order to access the domain.

The Dynamic DNS Feature in Firewall allows you to configure the DDNS account that you have purchased from the DDNS service provider and bind it to a WAN interface.
