ISP Redundancy and Load Balancing

• ISP Load Balancing is used when more than one internet provider is connected to the firewall. It is used to forward traffic based on the source subnet.
• ISP Redundancy is used when one service provider is down and all traffic needs to be routed to the remaining service provider.

Firewall can monitor WAN traffic using Physical Monitoring that detects if the link is unplugged or disconnected, or Physical and Logical Monitoring that monitors traffic at a higher level, such as upstream connectivity interruptions.
