Interface Types:

The Firewall supports a number of different interface types besides the onboard physical interfaces. These include Bridge, VLAN, Alias and LAG.

A bridge interface allows for the merging of two or more interfaces into a transparent layer 2 or layer 3 bridge to allow for seamless communication between interfaces.

A VLAN interface allows the admin to create a virtual LAN interface on one of the existing Firewall interfaces, and is used when the Firewall device is required to perform inter VLAN routing or tagging’.

An Alias interface allows the adding of additional IP addresses to an existing interface.

A LAG Interface is a group of interfaces acting as one single connection which can provide redundancy and increased speed between two devices.
